Finding places to leave a backlink for your EPN site

December 16, 2009

If you haven’t heard of Angela’s backlinks, you must be living under a rock. By far, this is the best service for newbies who aren’t familiar with getting backlinks. It’s really simple to do. I have come up with some good techniques by reading other articles and forums for creating your own backlinks.

So, how do you do it. The easiest way to see where Angela has left her links is to type “AngelaE8654″ in Google. This will give you a huge list of results where you can see how she is doing it. It is most often by leaving a link in a forum signature. There are many ways she is doing it so it is best to look at a few and figure it out.

Another way is to use backlinkwatch.com and find the article she most often leaves a backlink to, http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=1151743. Too bad this tool only lists the first 1000 sites but surely you can find a way to leave a link or two where she has been. Be sure to avoid the spammy ones, you’ll know them when you see them.

This is my own technique that I use a lot for placing links that will relate to my niche. Now, it doesn’t have to be endless 1000 links. I typically sign up for 10 to 15 forums, make relevant posts and then go back and fix my signature so it includes my backlinks. So, how do I find these forums? Here is my technique. VBulletin forums are easy to do. Simply do this, in Google, type “BB code is On”+your_keyword and then hit enter. You will get a huge list of sites that have VBulletin installed. The most important thing is to make sure that profiles are viewable by everyone. To do this, simply go to one of the sites and click on someones username and “view public profile.” If you are prompted for login, move on, not a good site to use, if you are able to view the information be sure to look at their signature. Any links? Images? Quotes? If so, then you can go ahead and sign up for the forum using an @gmail address or other free email. I use a seperate email for each niche site so that way when I go back to add my links I know exactly which forum I need to do it in.

This is just one example of how to get quality backlinks for your EPN affiliate site. There are many others including link wheels on 2.0 web properties, eg, wordpress, tumblr, squidoo etc. I know you say to yourself, “why do I want to try any harder if thin sites are doing just fine?” Well, I agree with you if the niche is small enough where a big swing in SERPS won’t affect you, but, if you’re like me, some of my niches do have competition and any leg up to keep me high is good.

Do you have any good techniques for building links? Please do share.
